Alesia J. Kantor focuses her practice on employment law and commercial litigation. She has more than two decades of experience defending employers against claims of employment discrimination filed in federal and courts as well as before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and state and local human rights agencies. Ms. Kantor represents companies in commercial disputes as well and is an experienced trial attorney in both the employment law and commercial litigation arenas.
Ms. Kantor also provides day-to-day legal counsel to management on a variety of employment law issues, including hiring, discipline, termination, equal employment opportunity laws, wage and hour compliance, restrictive covenants, reductions in force, work place disputes, effective performance evaluations and conducting investigations into claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and unfair treatment. She regularly drafts and reviews corporate policies, handbooks, employment agreements, separation agreements, restrictive covenants, confidentiality agreements and other employment-related agreements and conducts training for clients’ managers, supervisors and employees on avoiding sexual harassment, retaliation and other discrimination-based claims.
Ms. Kantor is an experienced speaker on a variety of labor, employment and human relations issues. She has served as a panelist on the Employment Law Panel at the Spring Broadcast Management Conference of the National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters since 2002.
