ExperienceAleks Frimershtein’s practice concentrates on three areas: tax credit transactions, tax-exempt financings, and general tax. He focuses a large part of his practice on representing investors and developers in tax credit transactions. He has served as primary attorney in closing numerous rehabilitation tax credit and new markets tax credit transactions. He has also represented equity investors in low-income housing and production tax credit transactions. A significant portion of Mr. Frimershtein’s practice also consists of tax-exempt financings; He represents issuers, borrowers, and underwriters in connection with the issuance of governmental and private activity bonds. Mr. Frimershtein joins Nixon Peabody with extensive experience in partnership taxation and heavily-structured tax-driven transactions such as financial products, cross-border sale-leasebacks, and securitizations.
