Experience

As a member of the Energy and Environment Group, Ms. Ziemba routinely works on local, state and national siting and environmental permitting of new development projects. Ms. Ziemba has addressed environmental issues for a number of new energy developments, including wind and biogas facilities, as well as an operating nuclear power plant. Her work includes environmental impact review, air, water and solid waste permitting, as well as other land use approval matters. Ms. Ziemba has experience regarding greenhouse gas emissions, carbon credits, and renewable portfolio standards for a number of states.

Ms. Ziemba has been involved in the negotiation of several New York SPDES-related consent orders with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and provided litigation support in a successful defense of a citizen suit under the Clean Water Act and the Resource Conservation Recovery Act.

Before joining the firm, Ms. Ziemba was a student legal clerk for the United States Attorney's Office of the Northern District of New York and worked for the New York Farm Bureau in Glenmont, NY, as a public-policy specialist, regulatory coordinator, and lobbyist.
