ExperienceAbigail Sterling Olsen has served as bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel, borrower’s counsel, and special counsel for various tax-exempt municipal financings for transportation, environmental, education, and public power facilities, as well as tobacco asset securitization transactions. She has experience in the drafting of primary financing documents, resolutions, and official statements. Ms. Olsen has participated in numerous transactions involving the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation, the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, the Suffolk County Water Authority, and the Florida Municipal Power Agency. She also has experience with the issuance of general obligation bonds and notes by municipalities in the State of New York, including Nassau County. While attending law school, Ms. Olsen was editor-in-chief of the Boston College International and Comparative Law Review from 1996 to 1997 and a staff writer for that publication from 1995 to 1996. She is the author of “The European Union and Abortion Tourism: Liberalizing Ireland’s Abortion Law,” 20 B.C. Int’l. & Comp. L. Rev. 385 (1997). Prior to earning her law degree, Ms. Olsen was a legal assistant in the Public Finance Department of Mudge Rose Guthrie Alexander & Ferdon in New York City.
