New York, NY. International law firm Nixon Peabody LLP has received the highest rating—100 percent—from the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) in its annual Corporate Equality Index for the fourth straight year. Nixon Peabody is one of 88 law firms and 305 businesses nationwide to receive a 100 percent rating this year. In 2006, Nixon Peabody was among the first to receive a perfect rating—one of only 12 law firms to make the list at the time.

International law firm Nixon Peabody LLP today announces that Jennifer Collins, an associate in the firm’s Boston office, has been elected to the Board of the Massachusetts Lesbian and Gay Bar Association (MLGBA). The two-year position is effective immediately. MLGBA is a statewide professional association of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender lawyers and allies providing a visible LGBT presence within the Massachusetts legal community.

This recognition from the HRC comes just months after the firm was recognized for the third year in a row by FORTUNE magazine as one of its “100 Best Companies To Work For®,” with a special recognition made to Nixon Peabody’s diversity programs.

Diversity is a common theme in 21st century American society, the theory being that diverse backgrounds and cultures bring different viewpoints, that once shared and considered, work to the betterment of all. Recently, however, the United States Supreme Court reviewed for the first time voluntary efforts to diversify public schools.
