Beth Wood has been a paralegal for more than 20 years. A member of Nixon Peabody’s Public Finance group since 2003, Ms. Wood works closely with industrial development agencies whose applicants include educational and charitable not-for-profit institutions, and for-profit corporations. She is an involved member of the public finance team, where her skills are used in the areas of extensive legal drafting; assembly of due diligence items; organizing transactional documentation, including review of title insurance and survey matters; closing industrial development bond and straight lease transactions; reviewing closing transcripts; and timely filing required IRS and state government forms and reports. She communicates regularly with clients to assure that critical deadlines are met relating to public hearings, resolutions, and governmental approvals, and follows up regarding outstanding matters.
Before joining Nixon Peabody, Ms. Wood worked as a paralegal for the Zaremba Group, LLC, Cleveland, Ohio, where she drafted contracts for purchase of land and AIA construction contracts on behalf of clients such as CVS Pharmacy and Sterling Autobody Shops. Before working for Zaremba, she was employed at Hancock Title Agency for 14 years as a paralegal, office manager, and licensed title agent for First American Title Insurance Company, focusing on commercial and residential real estate acquisitions, sales, lending transactions, and commercial construction law. She brings experience in matters of subdivision development, lien laws, mortgage financings, probate, and trust and estate planning.
