Jennifer Collins is a member of the firm’s Private Clients Group. Jen advises individuals in sophisticated estate planning matters, including gift, estate and income tax planning. Jen also has significant experience in estate planning for same-sex couples and regularly helps clients navigate the differences in tax treatment under the various state and federal laws.
Jen represents beneficiaries and fiduciaries in trust reformation proceedings, petitions for cy pres, and trust termination matters.
Jen also counsels non-profit organizations with respect to structuring, obtaining tax-exempt status, and ongoing legal matters. In addition, she advises clients on complying with the private foundation rules of the Internal Revenue Code.
Jen began her practice as a corporate lawyer and continues to assist clients with assessing their business needs and with succession planning issues.
Jen is a contributing author to Understanding and Using Trusts (MCLE, Inc. Supp. 2011) and serves on the New Developments Committee of the Boston Bar Association.
