Paralegals and professional specialists are a vital part of the Nixon Peabody team. We strive to recruit and retain individuals with in-depth knowledge and the ability to offer clients legal services of the highest caliber. As clients frequently encounter complex legal issues that demand sophisticated technical knowledge and analysis, we seek professional specialists who have extensive hands-on experience in such diverse fields as technology, intellectual property, environmental engineering, medicine, finance, and accounting.
The complex and changing nature of the law requires that paralegals focus significant effort on continuing education. Nixon Peabody encourages and supports paralegals in several aspects of professional development, from offering in-house seminars to tuition reimbursement for external academic programs endorsed by the firm. In many cases, paralegals may also enhance their professional development by participating in or monitoring the firm’s attorney-oriented training programs. These include seminars often presented by the firm's various practice groups. We also encourage our professional specialists to pursue educational advancement in their respective disciplines throughout their careers. In addition, we support a variety of external professional development activities and offer in-house programs designed to help professional specialists earn or renew certifications in several professional areas.
