As the consummate “deal lawyer,” Paul Schrier has been involved in numerous significant transactions spanning a diverse array of industries in his career. His practice includes mergers and acquisitions, including cross-border transactions. He also has considerable expertise in secured lending deals involving real estate and other asset-based financings and sophisticated loan workouts; real estate acquisitions and dispositions of commercial, retail, industrial, and hotel properties; and multifamily and commercial development projects, including ground leases and sale-leaseback transactions. Paul was also managing partner of Nixon Peabody LLP’s San Francisco office from April 2007 to June 2013.
Paul serves as outside general counsel for many of his clients, advising them on a wide range of legal issues in addition to transactions. From October 1990 to October 1991, Paul was on special assignment in Tokyo as a foreign associate with Mori Sogo Law Offices (now known as Mori, Hamada & Matsumoto), one of the premier law firms in Japan.
