Temporary Patent Specialist

Location
Palo Alto, CA

Nixon Peabody LLP has an immediate opening for a temporary patent specialist (patent and trademark prosecution) in our Silicon Valley office located in Palo Alto. This position reports directly to the office administrator. Chosen candidate will start immediately.

Responsibilities: The temporary patent specialist will review docket reports and schedule filing reminders for attorneys and staff. Will handle and maintain patent and trademark files. This position will compile filings and electronically file (where able) with the PTO. The temporary patent specialist will manage pending patent files and documents working with attorneys, paralegals, and other patent specialists as necessary.

Qualifications include a minimum of four years of relevant patent experience. Must know patent and trademark prosecution practices and procedures. Must know the U.S. filing laws and be familiar with foreign filing laws. Candidates must understand and follow docket reports and know the TESS system. Law firm experience is preferred. B.A. is also preferred.
