New York Judge Rules in Favor of Nixon Peabody Allowing French Partners to Join International FirmNew York, NY. A New York judge today ruled in favor of international law firm Nixon Peabody LLP in allowing 13 French partners to join the firm. 9/16/2008 The case centered on whether Nixon Peabody had the right to hire these partners without restrictions. Today, Justice Kenneth Fisher ruled in favor of Nixon Peabody on all claims, reaffirming that Nixon Peabody acted appropriately in its recruiting discussions. “From the start, we were convinced these claims should have never been filed,” said Richard F. Langan, Jr., managing partner and CEO of Nixon Peabody LLP. “We are pleased that the judge was able to see through these unfounded claims. Nixon Peabody enthusiastically looks forward to welcoming a team of dynamic partners from Taylor Wessing France to join our firm as we expand our international presence to better serve our clients and seek opportunities in key global cities such as Paris.” The foundation for Nixon Peabody's global platform is the firm's strengths in private equity, infrastructure, stadium and acquisition finance, insurance and reinsurance, capital markets, intellectual property, digital media, institutional real estate, and international arbitration.
