Nixon Peabody LLP Elects Providence Attorney Joseph B. White, Esq., To Partnership2/4/2005 Providence, Rhode Island. Nixon Peabody LLP has elected Joseph B. White, Esq., to the partnership of the firm. Mr. White is a member of the firm's Business Practice Group focusing on corporate transactional work and emerging businesses. He is also the co-leader of the firm's Medical Device Team. His transactional experience includes acquisitions, sales, mergers, recapitalizations, and private placement offerings. Mr. White also has significant experience with not-for-profit law and federal, state, and local taxation. His clients include property and casualty companies, financial institutions, manufacturing companies, high technology developers and municipalities. Patricia Igoe, Providence office managing partner for Nixon Peabody, said: “Joe has continuously demonstrated an exceptional ability as an attorney. With a focus on client service and a determination to deliver excellent results, he is certainly worthy of this recognition and is a valuable addition to the firm partnership.” Mr. White is admitted to practice in Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York. He currently serves as judge of probate, Town of North Kingstown, juvenile hearing officer, Town of North Kingstown, and is the legal representative to the Asset Management Commission, Town of North Kingstown. Additionally, Mr. White serves on the boards of directors of West Bay YMCA, USS Saratoga Museum Foundation, Inc., and Beechwood House Senior Center. He is a member of the Rhode Island Technology Council and the Brown Enterprise Forum. Mr. White also volunteers his time with the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, South Kingstown Lodge #1899, where he served as presiding justice. He received a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and a B.S. in business administration, cum laude from Providence College.
