Nirva Kapasi Joins Technology & Intellectual Property Practice Group At Nixon Peabody LLPNirva Kapasi has joined the Boston office of Nixon Peabody LLP as an associate in the firm’s Technology & Intellectual Property Practice Group. Ms. Kapasi will serve as a member of the group’s Business Team, which currently provides counsel on the full range of business transactions to a diverse group of clients including Fortune 500 companies, entrepreneurs, start-ups, leading academic institutions, and individual inventors, in both cutting-edge and more established technologies. 3/18/2005 Ms. Kapasi will focus her practice on biotechnology transactions in addition to assisting emerging and established life science businesses in developing, procuring, and marketing technology, information, products, and services. Prior to joining Nixon Peabody, Ms. Kapasi was the corporate communications manager at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, managing internal and external corporate communications for the discovery research department. “Nirva’s biomedical background and industry experience complement our growing practice and enhance our capabilities for representing biotechnology companies in all aspects of their businesses, from private equity financing and corporate governance to technology licensing, strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions, and initial public offerings,” said Michael K. Barron, partner and chair of the Business Team within Nixon Peabody’s Technology & Intellectual Property Practice Group. Ms. Kapasi earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Boston University and a J.D., cum laude, from New England School of Law. She is a member of the Massachusetts and South Asian bar associations. Ms. Kapasi is admitted to practice in Massachusetts.
