Roland is a partner in the Global Finance practice group. He represents lenders, debt investors, borrowers, lessors and lessees in lending, equipment leasing and other commercial and structured finance transactions.
What do you focus on?
I focus on helping businesses and finance parties accomplish their goals in finance transactions, often with some cross border aspect involved. These transactions run the gamut from secured and unsecured loan transactions, both syndicated and bilateral, to asset-based transactions involving power generating, manufacturing and other facilities to aircraft, telecom and rolling stock assets.
I also regularly counsel clients in the U.S. and Europe regarding restructurings and the sale and purchase of loans and other claims under LSTA, LMA and other documentation.
I’ve spoken at conferences in the U.S. and Europe on asset finance and restructuring arrangements and, in the United Kingdom, I am registered with the Solicitors Regulation Authority as a Registered Foreign Lawyer.
What do you see on the horizon?
I see the combination of the continuing favorable interest rate environment and the gradual expansion of appetite to lend to borrowers as trends that will continue over the coming months.
