Nixon Peabody Moves Up in Bond Market Rankings

International law firm Nixon Peabody LLP was the leading underwriters’ counsel in the bond markets for the first half of 2010, according to recent rankings by Thomson Reuters covering January–June 2010.

The firm moved up from the second leading slot it held at the end of 2009. The first-half rankings were based on 27 reported issues worth $8.6 billion.

Nixon Peabody also ranked as the third largest bond counsel for the first half of 2010—an improvement of three places from the end of last year where the firm ranked 6th. With 32 issues worth $8.9 billion between January–June 2010, The Bond Buyer noted that Nixon Peabody’s results during the first half of this year represent a 53% increase in volume over 2009’s first-half numbers.
