Hong Kong. Nixon Peabody CWL partners C.Y. Ho and Patrick Lee have been approved as China-Appointed Attesting Officers (CAAO) by the Ministry of Justice of the Peoples Republic of China.
Hong Kong lawyers must pass a series of examinations to be appointed a CAAO. Officers attest and certify acts and other documents from Hong Kong that will be used in Mainland China.
“With their appointments by the Ministry of Justice of the PRC, our expanded practice of China-appointed Attesting Officers will have more bandwidth to serve the growing demand from clients in Hong Kong and overseas,” said Nixon Peabody CWL Senior Partner Cheng Hoo.
C.Y. Ho is partner with extensive experience in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring and corporate finance and Hong Kong and PRC corporate and commercial matters.
Patrick Lee is a partner who represents clients in Hong Kong and China on a variety of corporate matters including takeovers, secondary fund raising transactions, initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions and regulatory matters. He also advises on Hong Kong and cross-border corporate and commercial projects including joint ventures, sale and purchase of shares and businesses.
