Boston, MA. Nixon Peabody has appointed partner Stephen LaRose as co-leader of the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation practice joining San Francisco-based co-leader and partner Robert Weikert.

“We have a deep and diverse bench of seasoned trial lawyers focused on advocating for clients in high-exposure ‘bet the company’ disputes, in defense of government civil investigations, in class action litigation and various arbitration forums,” Steve said. “I’m thrilled to be working together with Rob to help our colleagues deliver solutions to our clients’ business challenges.”

A skilled commercial litigator, Steve works with clients to resolve their business problems, particularly in defense of SEC investigations and other disputes involving the capital markets. In June, Steve was part of a team that secured a major victory on behalf of a Wells Fargo banker vindicated in a fraud lawsuit brought by the SEC.

“Steve and Rob are focused on leading our team of attorneys to develop and execute tailored strategies aligned with our clients’ business objectives,” said Andrew Glincher, Nixon Peabody CEO and managing partner. “Our goal is to secure solutions—whether in or out of court—to keep our clients’ businesses moving forward.”

Steve has served in a number of leadership roles at Nixon Peabody, including as deputy chair of the Private Investment Fund Disputes team, head of the Boston office’s Pro Bono Committee and local litigation coordinator for the Boston office. In the Complex Commercial Litigation role, he succeeds Jonathan Sablone, who will continue to focus on his practice.
