New York, NY. Nixon Peabody is excited to announce the appointment of Ilana Kameros to managing partner of the firm’s New York City office. With 110 attorneys and professional colleagues at the heart of a global business and finance hub, the New York City office is one of the firm’s largest, with practices including Corporate, Project Finance and Public Finance, Affordable Housing and Real Estate, Complex Commercial Disputes, and Health Care, among others.
“Ilana has been integral to the success of our New York City office, building trusted client relationships throughout her practice and mentoring colleagues,” said Andrew I. Glincher, CEO and managing partner of Nixon Peabody. “The fresh perspectives Ilana brings to the table will help guide the office to further growth and success in the years to come.”
In addition to her office leadership role, Ilana will maintain her practice in the firm’s Corporate Trust and Banking & Finance group. Ilana represents corporate agency and trust groups in major banking institutions and trust companies in their roles as trustees, custodians, administrators, and agents.
She advises clients as they navigate new and complex deal structures, in addition to various transactions, including public and private debt and pass-through offerings of asset-backed securities, residential and commercial mortgage-backed securities, CDO/CLO transactions, corporate debt issuances, and collateral agency appointments. Her portfolio of clients includes major trustee and agency banks.
Ilana takes the New York City office reins from Joseph Lynch, who held the office managing partner post for more than six years. During his tenure, Joe spearheaded the office’s move to a new and modern space in Midtown Manhattan. His vision of a workplace that brought to life the firm’s culture of collaboration and entrepreneurship garnered the award for “Coolest Offices in New York City” by Crain’s New York. Of the five organizations selected, Nixon Peabody was the only law firm.
Joe will continue his busy practice in the firm’s Affordable Housing and Real Estate group.
“I’m extremely honored to lead such a dynamic group of attorneys and professional colleagues,” said Ilana Kameros. “We partner with clients to move their businesses forward each day, and we take tremendous pride in seeing the impact these clients make on our region.”
Ilana attended the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University. She earned a BA in American Studies and an MA in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University.
