San Francisco, CA. Nixon Peabody is pleased to announce Karen D. Ng has been named to Lawyers of Color’s fifth Power List, which recognizes the most influential minority attorneys and allies in the nation including general counsel, managing partners, and law school deans.
Karen is a partner on Nixon Peabody’s Employee Benefits/ERISA team within the firm’s Corporate practice, and serves as managing partner of the San Francisco office, one of the firm’s largest.
A nationally renowned employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) practitioner, Karen is the first Asian American attorney to lead one of the firm’s U.S. offices. She focuses her practice on ERISA and employee benefits matters with an emphasis on ESOPs.
Karen has extensive experience with the design, implementation, and administration of ESOPs, pension plans, profit-sharing plans, and 401(k) plans, and advises clients with respect to the structuring of ESOP transactions involving both closely held and publicly traded companies. In addition to her technical experience, Karen is considered a thought leader in the ESOP community, and she is heavily involved in the leadership of employee ownership organizations. ESOPs can be exceedingly complex, and Karen excels at explaining these plans in easy-to-understand terms.
