“Joining forces - the importance of players unions and governing bodies for the future of the Esports industry.”

In a constantly changing Esports industry with new teams, leagues and competitions emerging in every corner of the globe, the collective bargaining agreements, revenue-sharing models and universal player’s representation that professional sports leagues have in place to protect their athletes is still largely non-existent. This lack of standardization across the industry has been a major source of concern for Esports players as they strive to build careers for themselves without the structure and support of dedicated unions to look after their interests. Join us for an interactive conversation featuring Esports players, team owners, agents and associations as they consider the complications of unionization in a nascent industry and offer solutions towards creating standards for contracts, payments, benefits and regulations that are fair to all parties at the negotiating table.

“The Future is Female - How women are playing a crucial role in the growth of Esports.”

When looking at the competitive landscape in many of the world’s premier Esports competitions, there is a significant amount of diversity amongst top Esports executives, players and media personalities in nearly every demographic with the noticeable exception of women. Are females being actively discouraged from pursuing a career in a male dominated Esports industry? Do Esports stakeholders have the capabilities to invest additional resources into developing the careers of promising females in the industry? These are just a few of the hot button issues that our panel of women in Esports will discuss as we dive into marketing, sponsorship activation and talent development strategies that could help create a female future for competitive Esports.
