Nixon Peabody partner, Brian Kelly, will speak on the topic of “Complex Multi-Defendant Litigation,” at the Boston Bar Association 2020 White-Collar Crime Conference.
Brian is speaking on a panel that will discuss strategic and legal challenges that have surfaced in recent multi-defendant white collar crime cases. These include how the U.S. Attorney’s Office makes charging decisions, resolving competing interests with a joint defense group, how to properly exit a joint defense agreement if your client decides to plead, severance considerations, trial stipulations, and how to sequence sentencing hearings. It will also discuss whether the District of Massachusetts should have a related case rule relating to judicial assignment of cases. Joining Brian on the panel are Hon. Allison Burroughs (U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts) and David Lazarus (Assistant U.S. Attorney, U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Massachusetts).
