Dr. Michael Mendoza is Commissioner of Public Health for Monroe County and Associate Professor at the University of Rochester in the Departments of Family Medicine, Public Health Sciences, and Nursing. As Commissioner of Public Health, Dr. Mendoza seeks to integrate his experience leading clinical practice transformation with his passion for leveraging community assets to improve population health by strengthening collaboration between clinical medicine and public health in our community. He is board certified in family medicine, and in addition to his responsibilities as Commissioner, Dr. Mendoza is an active clinician and educator practicing both outpatient family medicine and hospital medicine.
