In this rapidly changing economy, we see struggles and plans to address multifamily mortgage payments and rent payments. These have yielded federal, state, and local solutions for mortgage forbearance and eviction moratoriums. The most recent, and wide ranging, is the CDC’s recent order prohibiting evictions for non-payment of rent.
This webinar will explore what the order means for housing providers, how that relates to the mortgage forbearance and eviction provisions under the CARES Act, and possible ways to address these new developments. We will also look at other post-CARES Act eviction moratoriums imposed by HUD and other federal agencies that apply to some federally insured/secured properties.
We will discuss rent agreements, strategies for addressing residents, including negotiating through social distanced strategies, and possible federal assistance that may still be available.
This webinar will also examine examples of state laws that intersect with federal requirements.
