How many times have you heard about innovative leaders, disruptive law departments and breakthrough approaches to old problems. What does this mean and why should we care? Well, innovators, disruptors and break through thinkers have a creative mindset. Relying on materials from experts in the field, this session will discuss the following:
  • What is a mindset? What is the difference between a fixed mindset and growth mindset?
  • Why does mindset matter for us in our legal careers?
  • What do we need to do to foster a creative mindset?
  • How will a creative mindset help with career development?
  • How will such a mindset help you reach your goals, whether professional or personal?
  • What might happen if you take these ideas back to your team?

After and interactive dialogue discussing these questions, participants will break out into teams and given an idea to brainstorm based upon this discussion. The teams will come back together and share their experiences and ideas.

Creativity is an important aspect of human intelligence. Companies are always looking for creative people to add to their teams. Some of the largest corporations in the world are based upon a great idea with the right level of creativity to implement and build. One might wonder what this has to do with a career in law within those organizations. This session will build out on this question and discuss the importance of a creative mindset for the individual and the enterprise. Most importantly, participants will be given the tools to understand a creative mindset, ways to foster such a mindset and walk away with an understanding of how it might impact their current role and future goals.
