Boston, MA. Evelyn Moreno has been tapped as head of Nixon Peabody’s Private Clients practice. A partner in the Boston office, Evelyn heads a group of approximately 60 attorneys, investment advisors, financial planners, tax experts and other professional staff in connection with gift, estate and income tax planning for clients, administration and settlement of estates and trusts, and wealth management and trust accounting services for approximately $5 billion in client assets.
“My goal is to support and grow our thriving trusts and estates practice, and to lead it into the next generation of families and wealth,” said Evelyn.
“Evelyn’s strong leadership skills and sophisticated client base make her uniquely positioned to lead this group into the future,” said Andrew I. Glincher, CEO and managing partner of Nixon Peabody. “Evelyn puts her clients’ estate planning and wealth management goals first and has established herself as a hands-on, trusted advisor.”
Evelyn focuses her practice on sophisticated gift and estate tax planning, and she advises personal representatives of estates and trustees of trusts. She serves as trustee of numerous trusts for clients and works collaboratively with the trust, tax and investment groups to provide tax planning and investment advice to clients. Evelyn counsels nonprofit organizations with respect to tax and governance matters, and she has extensive experience in the reformation and termination of charitable trusts.
Evelyn succeeds Deborah Anderson in this leadership role. Under Deb’s direction, the practice grew through the addition of a group of attorneys and staff from Edwards Wildman, and the hire of a new chief investment officer. Deb will continue to represent individuals, trusts, partnerships, limited liability companies and corporations with respect to estate, income and gift tax planning matters and trust and estate administration.
