Washington, DC. Nixon Peabody is expanding in Washington, DC, with the arrival of new partner Sean P. Clancy. With almost two decades of experience counseling clients on a broad range of tax and business planning and tax policy matters, Sean represents public and private companies on mergers & acquisitions, corporate tax and executive compensation matters.
Sean also regularly advises private equity funds on the tax structuring of control positions in portfolio companies including equity rollovers by management and the use of earnouts.
Beyond his experience working on M&A and private equity transactions, Sean is a trusted advisor to senior management, boards of directors, and compensation committees in drafting, developing, and administering effective executive compensation programs

Sean, who joins Nixon Peabody from Squire Patton Boggs, previously served as an adjunct professor in the Master of Laws in Taxation Program at Georgetown University Law Center, where he earned his LL.M. He graduated cum laude from Widener University School of Law and received his B.A., with honors, from Lehigh University.
