Chicago, IL. Kettering Health Network has launched a Clinical Integration Network (CIN), Kettering Physician Partners. Nixon Peabody served as Kettering Health Network’s legal counsel.

Kettering Health Network is a not-for-profit network of eight hospitals, 10 emergency departments, and 120 outpatient facilities serving southwest Ohio. Kettering Physician Partners is the organizational and legal foundation for expanding the partnership between physicians and Kettering Health Network in pursuit of bringing exceptional quality in healthcare to patients and their communities.

The goal in creating the CIN is to bring physicians, hospitals, and other network facilities together into an organization with the focus of further improving quality of care. As a CIN, Kettering Physician Partners will expand the ability to:

  • Further enhance the quality, value, and efficiency of patient care;
  • Prepare for innovative reimbursement models available through commercial and government insurance programs;
  • Further develop technological and quality improvement tools and processes that will optimize the delivery of care across the entire continuum; and
  • Allow physicians and Kettering Health Network to collaborate to raise the quality and efficiency of care provided.

The Chicago-based Nixon Peabody team advising Kettering Health Network was led by health care partner Steve Banghart and health care associate April Schweitzer. Steve and April will continue to advise Kettering Physician Partners moving forward.
