Constellation Brands' Wine and Spirits former senior vice president and general counsel joins Nixon Peabody

Rochester, NY. Nixon Peabody is pleased to announce that Ron Fondiller, who served as senior vice president and general counsel of Constellation Brands' Wine and Spirits Division, has joined the firm’s Rochester, NY, office as counsel.

At Constellation, Ron and his legal team were responsible for a diverse variety of legal matters. These included alcohol regulatory compliance, distributor and broker relations and agreements, marketing, advertising and promotions law, wine and spirits production contracts and rules and regulations, supply agreements, international commercial transactions, import and export rules and regulations, general contracts, labor negotiations and employee relations, trademarks, acquisitions and divestitures.

Prior to joining Constellation, Ron served as general counsel for Prisma Group, a joint venture between Codorniu, SA, of Spain and Campari, S.p.A., of Italy. Ron also previously served as general counsel of Remy-Cointreau's U.S. operations, based in New York, and its Asian operations, based in Hong Kong. Before that, he was international counsel of Colgate-Palmolive Company and assistant international counsel of the American International Group, Inc.

Ron is a member of FIVS, a worldwide organization designed to serve all sectors of the alcohol beverage industry, including wine, beer and spirits, based in Paris, France. Its members include producers, distributors, importers, exporters and trade associations. Ron is also a member of the International Association of Wine Lawyers (AIDV), also based in Paris.

Ron has an LL.M in corporate law from New York University, and an LL.B. in international law and an M.A. in law from Cambridge University. He also holds an A.B. in history from Princeton University..
