Nixon Peabody welcomes Dana Stanton to the firm’s Energy & Environment practice

Albany, NY—Nixon Peabody is excited to announce the arrival of a new associate, Dana P. Stanton, to the firm’s Energy & Environment practice. Based in the firm’s Albany office, Dana will work on a broad mix of environmental permitting, counseling and compliance issues for clients in New York and Massachusetts.

Dana’s practice has focused on advising clients involved with state and federal environmental enforcement actions and hazardous waste site remediation, which includes analyzing the effectiveness of clean-up technologies and working with environmental consultants. Dana has extensive experience counseling manufacturing companies during environmental self-audits to bring them into compliance with state and federal environmental laws and regulations.

Prior to joining Nixon Peabody, Dana was an associate with McNamee, Lochner, Titus & Williams, P.C. Dana also served as a legal intern for the Rensselaer County District Attorney’s office, and as a law clerk for the New York State Office of the Attorney General’s, Environmental Protection Bureau and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of New York. Prior to her law career, Dana was a chemical engineer for General Electric, where she managed a capital improvement project to install new equipment in a chemical manufacturing plant, and evaluated the effect and cost of proposed new environmental regulations on the company.

Dana is admitted to practice law in the state of New York, the commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Northern, Eastern and Southern districts of New York and the District of Massachusetts. Dana earned a J.D., summa cum laude, from Albany Law School and holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
