Nixon Peabody announces new Franchise practice team leaders

Washington, D.C.— Nixon Peabody LLP is pleased to announce Kendal Tyre and Keri McWilliams will co-lead the firm’s Franchise practice team. Kendal and Keri will build upon the strong foundation of this nationally recognized practice team.

In his 24 years at Nixon Peabody, Kendal has developed deep technical knowledge in franchise, licensing and distribution and related corporate transactions, especially on the African continent. In his franchise practice, Kendal counsels franchisor clients regarding domestic and foreign franchise laws and all related documents.

Keri has a wealth of knowledge in both domestic and international franchise and distribution. She focuses her practice on working with franchisor clients to prepare and update franchise agreements and franchise disclosure documents, comply with state and federal regulations, and pursue strategic international expansion.

This leadership team has a history of success and influence as attorneys and thought leaders. Kendal’s and Keri’s most recently published book, International Franchising 2016: Legal and Business Considerations, is a 600-page desktop reference written by more than 60 collaborating attorneys, and covers more than 40 jurisdictions around the world.

U.S. News and World Report named Nixon Peabody “Law Firm of the Year” in Franchise Law. Only one U.S. law firm receives this distinction each year, and this is the fourth time in the past six years that Nixon Peabody’s franchise and distribution practice has received this designation.
