Hong Kong. Nixon Peabody CWL advised longtime client and listed company Lai Fung Holdings Limited in its recent license with Real Madrid Club de Fútbol.
As part of this license agreement, a subsidiary of Lai Fung will now have various intellectual property rights of Real Madrid in a project in mainland China. This project, which covers approximately 12,000 square meters, will provide various interactive football-related experiences for fans, as well as food and beverage and retail concessions.
Founded in 1902 as Madrid Football Club, Real Madrid is one of the most successful and well-known football clubs in the world. With 12 European League Championships and 33 Spanish La Liga titles, Real Madrid has the most wins of any competitors in these two elite tournaments.
