Boston, MA. The leading U.S.-based organization dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability among law firms has recognized Nixon Peabody with a gold certification in its American Legal Industry Sustainability Standard (ALISS) assessment.

The Law Firm Sustainability Network (LFSN) created ALISS to help law firms reduce their environmental impact in every aspect of their day-to-day operations. Firms are awarded points for various activities across five categories including: internal sustainability, external sustainability, stakeholder engagement, measuring and reporting, and innovation. Nixon Peabody ranked in the top 13% of the 15 law firms that participated in this inaugural assessment.

Nixon Peabody takes a holistic approach to sustainability and provides integrated services across legal, scientific and engineering disciplines to help clients deliver sustainable technologies, products and solutions. “Our firm is very proud of our efforts to reduce environmental impact,” said Mary McGuire, Chief Administrative Officer. “We drive sustainability throughout our own organization, and we strive to be thought leaders and corporate citizens, sharing our experience and partnering with stakeholders to develop innovative solutions to social and environmental challenges.”
