Washington, DC. IPED LLC, an affiliate of law firm Nixon Peabody, is proud to announce that 100% of registration fees collected from its “Transforming Communities with Affordable Housing” industry conference will be donated towards Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

On October 25, 2017, industry experts and government officials will convene in Austin, TX for a one-day seminar on how tax credit equity and government subsidies, such as low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC), can attract much-needed private capital for affordable housing developments.

A dedicated panel on “Disaster Recovery” was also set up to explore disaster relief resources such as the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR), among other resources from the U.S. Department of Housing and Development.

“Hurricane Harvey brought record flooding that displaced many of southeastern Texas’ residents and its low-income tenants were some of the hardest hit,” said Deborah VanAmerongen, one of IPED’s co-chairs and board member. “We will continue to support the region in its road to full recovery.”

Registration fees will be donated to the American Red Cross and Team Rubicon, a nonprofit organization founded by two U.S. marines that provides aid to disaster areas around the world.
