Los Angeles, CA. Nixon Peabody LLP is representing artist Sterling Ruby in his relationship with fashion house Calvin Klein.
Sterling, named by the New York Times as one of the most interesting artists of the twentieth century and one of the most celebrated contemporary artists of his generation to emerge out of Los Angeles, is represented by Nixon Peabody attorneys Thaddeus Stauber and Ellie Altshuler.
Thaddeus and Ellie worked closely with Sterling Ruby Studio, led by Director Tyler Britt, and Calvin Klein Executive Vice President and General Counsel Pamela Bradford, to bring the powerhouses together.
Sterling, in collaboration with Calvin Klein Chief Creative Officer Raf Simons, redesigned the New York City Madison Avenue flagship store and the twelfth floor showroom at the company’s headquarters at 205 West 39th Street. At the flagship store, scaffolding and bright yellow paint present an environment under construction, while quilts and fringe evoke elements of Americana.
The design has been lauded by numerous news outlets including the New York Times, Vogue, Hollywood Reporter, and ArtNet.
