Los Angeles, CA. Legal podcast To Live and Law in LA launches today with the goal of providing thought-provoking conversation on the issues that impact Los Angeles and the lawyers who practice there.
Hosts Neal Gauger, Jade Turner-Bond, Shannon Egan, and Aaron Brian, attorneys in Nixon Peabody’s Los Angeles office, will talk with lawyers, clients, and community leaders on issues ranging from the legalization of cannabis to driverless cars and mental health.
“This is an opportunity to peel back the curtain and look at what goes on in a big law firm,” said Neal. “As lawyers in Los Angeles, what are we thinking about and why? How is the city changing? How are we shaping those changes? It’s fodder for some really riveting conversations.”
Los Angeles is known for its creativity and innovation, and the firm’s Los Angeles office represents many of the city’s major cultural, academic, healthcare and municipal entities. Attorneys in this office have successfully closed major infrastructure and real estate deals, reshaped the delivery of healthcare in the city, and secured trial victories for clients in the arts, entertainment, and life sciences industries, among many others.
Nixon Peabody has been a presence in the local podcast community as a major sponsor to the Los Angeles Podcast Festival, the world's premier live podcasting event, uniting the biggest podcasting names in comedy and other genres for a weekend-long event in Los Angeles.
“Podcasts are essentially the Wild West,” said Neal. “This is a great opportunity for us to create something meaningful, fun, and outside the box.”
