Washington, DC. Kendal Tyre, a partner in Nixon Peabody’s Washington DC office, has been reappointed to serve a second term on the Trade Advisory Committee on Africa (TACA). TACA is the U.S. federal advisory board that advises on U.S. foreign policy in Africa.
With more than 25 years of experience, Kendal counsels clients on domestic and cross-border transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances, as well as licensing, distribution, and franchise matters.
“The saturation of Western markets, the relaxation of trade barriers and the globalization of business have pushed franchisors to new African markets to distribute their products and services,” said Kendal Tyre, Nixon Peabody partner. “I’m excited to continue my work with TACA and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative as we advise on trade and development in sub-Saharan Africa.”
Kendal, who will serve on the committee until 2022, is the executive director of the LexNoir Foundation and serves as an editor and author for the “Franchising In” international book series. His recent books include International Franchising 2016: Legal and Business Considerations. The publication covers 41 countries and was a collaboration of more than 60 legal practitioners across the globe.
