Marion Blankopf

Marion Blankopf is a counsel in Nixon Peabody’s Labor and Employment group. She represents employers in federal and state court litigation and before regulatory agencies. She also counsels employers on a wide variety of employment issues.

What do you focus on?

I focus my practice on two related areas:

  1. Helping employers achieve their employment-related aims while avoiding litigation from employees or ex-employees
  2. Defending employers when litigation does result.

I also create and review employment agreements and policies and procedures that give employers the maximum freedom to manage their organizations in the way they wish while maintaining all necessary compliance with employment-related government obligations. In recent years I have particularly specialized in providing legal services to institutions of higher education, while maintaining a broad spectrum of other clients.

What do you see on the horizon?

For higher education clients, I see growing employment-related legal issues related to adjunct faculty and other non-traditional faculty positions as well as issues arising out of the growing use of online instruction and satellite campuses.
