Barbara Clear is an associate in our Real Estate group. She works with owners, buyers, sellers, borrowers and investors to acquire, sell, develop, finance, lease and restructure commercial and multifamily property.
Barbara is admitted to practice in the state of New York and is supervised by members of the firm who are members of the Massachusetts Bar.
Much of my practice is focused on assisting owners, buyers and sellers in the acquisition and disposal of commercial and multifamily property. I work on financing related to affordable housing developments and handle the restructuring of ownership interests in real property matters.
I work with clients on projects involving the federal low-income housing tax credit program, which involve the acquisition, rehabilitation and new construction of rental housing for low-income households.
I also assisted clients with urban development projects that leverage the federal new markets tax credit program. This program allows underserved communities benefit from new construction and improved access to job opportunities with the addition of new businesses to the community, and contributes to overall economic growth in these areas.
I see a greater need for workforce housing in the Boston Metropolitan Area. As the economy continues to go from strength to strength, there is a real opportunity to address this housing shortage and provide middle income tenants with much needed accommodation.
