Lizl Leonardo is a department attorney in Nixon Peabody’s Complex Commercial Disputes practice group. She represents both individuals and corporations in a wide variety of disputes and litigation.
My practice is focused on representing clients in all phases of disputes and litigation, from pre-trial motions and discovery to trial-prep, trials, post-trials and appeals.
Prior to joining Nixon Peabody in 2018, I worked for one of the largest insurance providers in the United States as a Senior Financial Analyst. During those six years, I advised senior management on feasible recommendations after analyzing, quantifying and interpreting key emerging trends that impacted financial results. I created and led the financial modeling, goal-setting process and reporting of various agent compensation projects and all auto and property lines to support operational and strategic decisions across regional offices and business units. Before moving into the legal profession, my last position supported the business unit that worked with independent agents and dealer agencies.
I now combine my unique understanding of the insurance industry with my experience as an attorney to counsel clients on issues at the crossroads of these two sectors. Clients can count on me to anticipate their business needs and deliver cost-effective solutions that lower their risk of a dispute. In the event litigation does ensue, I work tirelessly on their behalf knowing what is at stake and to deliver a favorable result.
With today’s fast-paced global economy that allows for more cross-border transactions, I’m following how antitrust laws across the world can keep up.
