What do you focus on?

I focus my practice on preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the biomedical and biotechnology fields.

Representative areas of technical experience include:

  • Stem cell biology and cell therapy
  • Tissue engineering and organ-on-chip technologies
  • Electrophysiology, optogenetics and related technologies
  • Therapeutic agents with specific experience in cardiovascular disease, diabetes, asthma and epilepsy
  • Genetic medicine and gene editing
  • The microbiome

What do you see on the horizon?

I believe that the “CRISPR Patent War” (University of California v. Broad Institute, Inc.) shines a spotlight on the significance of intellectual property protection and rapid, high quality patent prosecution for the life sciences. I will adapt our services to protect our clients as the patent landscape continues to shift.
