Kimberly Wojcik handles transactions involving renewable energy tax credits and new markets tax credits. She represents clients including developers, equity investors, syndicators and lenders on issues relating to the acquisition, development and operation of projects nationwide.
I work with clients to close transactions involving renewable energy investment tax credits, infusing capital into new developments throughout the country. I handle due diligence review and drafting and negotiating tax equity and loan documents, as well as overall project management.
I also work with new markets tax credits, which finance community economic development. I represent investors, lenders—including Community Development Entities, Community Development Financial Institutions and traditional lenders—and developers and project sponsors who use federal and/or state tax incentives to bring private investment to underserved communities.
I see state activity as a continuing, driving force for renewable energy development as well as utilities seeking to meet customer demand. Energy storage will continue to evolve and play a valuable role in energy security and reliability. Also, in light of the election, tax reform is looming. I am excited to see what changes may be implemented and how the Code may be used to promote infrastructure and other community development initiatives.
