International law firm Nixon Peabody is pleased to announce that partners Lori Green and Bill Andrews have been named “Dealmakers of the Year” by The American Lawyer. The publication recognized Ms. Green and Mr. Andrews for their work on the CapX 2020 Utilities transactions.

Every year The American Lawyer selects “Dealmakers of the Year” from among the most complex, sophisticated, and groundbreaking transactions negotiated and closed. Ms. Green and Mr. Andrews serve as project counsel for CapX 2020 Utilities to expand the electric transmission grid and support renewable energy expansion. Nixon Peabody represents all eleven of the CapX 2020 Utilities in connection with five joint venture transactions.

The CapX 2020 Utilities project involves a disparate group of public power entities, investor-owned utilities, and cooperatives. Achieving the mission to document and close each deal with terms satisfactory for all requires understanding of each client’s business and related needs. Nixon Peabody attorneys have brought significant value to the transactions through their combination of industry knowledge and understanding of the perspectives of the differently situated parties. Ms. Green and Mr. Andrews successfully forged compromises and provided the needed counsel to achieve the goals of keeping the transactions moving and closing the deals.

Nixon Peabody has served as project counsel for projects ranging from energy transmission and generation to transportation facilities, sports stadiums and arenas, and other major infrastructure. These projects are valued in the billions of dollars.
