Boston, MA. Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) magazine has ranked Nixon Peabody among the top law firms for securing high-quality patents on behalf of its clients. IAM magazine ranked Nixon Peabody #7 overall in its ratings, which are calculated using Ocean Tomo’s OTR metric. Ocean Tomo gives a quality score to each patent granted over the past three years. Additionally, Nixon Peabody received a number of top-ten rankings in specific industries, including:

  • #1 in Information Technology
  • #5 in Healthcare (pharma/bio)
  • #6 in Consumer Electronics/Discretionary
  • #7 in Industrials

Nixon Peabody has a history of obtaining high-quality patents for its clients. In addition to these IAM magazine rankings, Nixon Peabody’s patents practice has also been recognized by Managing IP magazine for securing “the highest quality patents” for clients across all industries.

“We’re excited to be recognized for developing strong, innovative, and enforceable patent portfolios for our clients so they can better compete in an increasingly competitive and global marketplace,” said Jeff Costellia, leader of Nixon Peabody’s IP Counseling & Transactions practice. “It’s important and more meaningful that these rankings are based on patent quality, as opposed to quantity and to be ranked so highly in such a spectrum of patent areas really highlights our flexibility and excellent breadth of coverage.”
