Sam Parrish is a member of the Labor & Employment practice group. She has experience representing clients in a broad range of civil litigation matters in employment, securities, maritime, and mortgage banking industries.
My practice focuses on advising and defending employers in a wide-range of industries, including technology, transportation, banking, and securities.
I have defended employers in federal and state court, and in regulatory and arbitral forums, including the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the American Arbitration Association (AAA), on claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, defamation, tortious interference, breach of contract, unfair competition, and labor code violations (including Private Attorneys General Act claims).
I have extensive securities experience, including representing financial advisors seeking expungement and defending broker dealers against customer and industry related claims.
My experience also covers advising broker dealer clients with respect to customer complaints against financial advisors, and investigation and resolution of such complaints in compliance with the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and FINRA Rules.
California’s ever-changing legal landscape presents a unique and challenging arena for employers seeking to comply with labor and employment laws. The intersection between technology and the legal field is growing to provide employers with automated workflows and products to solve these evolving issues with a click of the mouse. Such technological and legally-driven tools, while exciting, create a new set of unanswered legal questions, which will need to be addressed.
