Rachel Tang is a trainee solicitor at Nixon Peabody CWL. She is currently with the firm’s corporate and commercial department and assists companies with a variety of corporate matters including acquisitions and corporate financing.
I currently assist clients on a variety of corporate matters including mergers and acquisitions, corporate financing, initial public offerings as well as general compliance and regulatory matters.
Previously, I was with the firm’s dispute resolution department for 3 years, initially as a paralegal and later as a trainee solicitor. There, my work was focused on company disputes, debt recovery for international banks and cyber fraud. I also have experience helping clients with disputes involving misrepresentations, wills, family companies/trusts and mental health inquiries.
I am fluent in Japanese and have experience in Japanese business development at an international tech accessory startup. In the past, I have also taken research roles at NGOs in London and Hong Kong with a particular focus on corporate social responsibility and the intersection between global commodity chains and human rights.
The pandemic has ushered in a new wave of digital transformation and we are seeing a new normal in the way businesses and disputes are conducted both in Hong Kong and beyond. As the world increasingly shifts its focus to digital products and technologies, this does not only bring new opportunities but also requires considered strategies to help us manage risk.
