Nick Tsimortos is an associate in the Government Relations and Affordable Housing practice groups. He represents both private and public sector clients across the country and offers strategic counsel on regulatory and legislative compliance at both the federal and state levels.
I represent both private and publicly held companies in all aspects of government relations, focusing on real estate matters. My practice involves assisting clients develop affordable housing projects that comply with complex government regulations. My government and legislative experience allows me to ensure my clients’ projects are constructed expeditiously in accordance with respective regulations.
I previously served as a deputy finance director for the Massachusetts Republican Party where I worked with the governor and lieutenant governor to raise a record-breaking amount for the State Party. I managed the party’s PAC Program as well—worked with government affairs departments from a wide-range of companies inside and outside Massachusetts for the purpose of receiving PAC contributions. In addition to my political work, I worked in the Department of Labor where I presided over administrative hearings on appeals of claims for agency services and benefits involving evidentiary and legal issues.
I leverage my years of experience in government to help my clients successfully develop projects in a fast growing and heavily regulated industry. I work with my clients to properly navigate through government regulations so they can complete their projects as quickly and efficiently as possible.
I see great development opportunities for affordable housing projects due to the high costs of buying and renting in both cities and towns. The government has become increasingly concerned with the gap between high-cost and affordable housing projects, which will pave the way for growth in the area of affordable housing as well as an increase in regulation.
