Rob Dewees is a retired partner of the firm who currently serves as Counsel in the Energy and Environmental group. He represents New England’s electric and gas utilities, competitive power suppliers, generating companies, renewable energy companies and other entities in the energy industry. He also has represented telecommunications companies.
I have represented electric and gas utilities in regulatory, financing, zoning, land use, environmental and permitting cases. I have been involved in regulatory proceedings involving electric industry restructuring and the purchase and sale of generating facilities. I have worked on transmission permitting and construction projects in New England. I have represented competitive power suppliers before several state regulatory commissions.
I have represented wind and solar power projects in obtaining regulatory and permitting approvals, on financing matters and in negotiating the purchase and sale of renewable energy assets.
I have represented wireless and other telecommunications companies, including radio companies, in regulatory, interconnection and general business matters as well as for the siting and construction of telecommunications towers, antennas and similar facilities.
The energy business is constantly changing as new technologies develop and local, state and federal regulatory requirements change. Clients must keep ahead of these changes and develop legal strategies that take advantage of these changes.
