Emily Dinsmore is a counsel in Nixon Peabody’s Global Finance practice group and a member of our Leveraged Finance team in our Buffalo office.
I advise banks and other financial institutions in a variety of financings and structured lending transactions. I have worked on general obligation financings for school districts and local governments, giving me a deep experience in federal securities and tax law. Additionally, I have served as bond and underwriters’ counsel on a variety of general obligation bond offerings and as trustee’s counsel on revenue bond issues. Prior to joining Nixon Peabody, I focused my practice on public finance, representing local governments, school districts, fire districts, utility districts, and underwriters as bond counsel and special counsel on a range of financial issues. I worked closely with advisors, architects, engineers, bond insurers, verification agents, and escrow agents when planning and executing school and municipal projects.
I can’t help but think about the effects of economic uncertainty in the immediate future. Between inflation, rising interest rates, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, supply chain issues, and lingering effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, a lot of industries are in flux. We’re going to have to remain nimble in our response to these changing conditions.
