Jeffrey League

Jeffrey League is an associate in Nixon Peabody’s Labor & Employment group, representing and counseling employers on a broad range of labor and employment matters at both the state and federal level.

What do you focus on?

I focus my practice on multiple aspects of labor and employment law.

Litigation of Employment Disputes

I have represented employers in a variety of litigation matters including non-compete disputes, independent contractor classification issues and discrimination and retaliation claims brought under various state and federal laws such as Title VII and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Labor Relations

I also advise employers on union avoidance related issues and defend management against unfair labor practice charges brought before the National Labor Relations Board.

What do you see on the horizon?

I believe that retaliation claims will continue to be an area of intensive litigation as the number of retaliation claims filed continues to rise. I believe that due to this trend in litigation, it is essential that employers be proactive to minimize the risk of these types of claims.
