What do you focus on?

I assist clients in a host of areas, including government investigations, criminal defense, data privacy, business tort, and other civil litigation matters. I am involved in all phases of trial preparation and case management, from discovery and initial pleadings through dispositive motions. I also help clients comply with data privacy regulations, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation and California privacy laws.

What do you see on the horizon?

I expect that data security will continue to be a concern for businesses, particularly in light of the recent string of massive data breaches among U.S.-based companies. Domestic business stands to be impacted by the growing mistrust of consumers who are rapidly educating themselves about data privacy. Companies involved in transnational data transfers will have to pay close attention to data breaches at other U.S.–based companies, as these will affect how other countries see American data security standards as a whole and may bear negatively on the future of the EU–U.S. Privacy Shield agreement.
